1. Heat your pan
Use a large skillet (cast iron works great) over medium heat. Add butter and let it melt.
2. Sear the ham steaks
Place ham steaks in the pan and cook 2–3 minutes per side until lightly browned.
3. Make the glaze
Reduce the heat slightly and add brown sugar, mustard, juice, garlic powder, and pepper. Stir around the ham steaks until everything melts together.
4. Glaze and caramelize
Spoon the glaze over the ham as it simmers. Let it cook another 3–5 minutes until thickened and sticky.
5. Add pineapple (optional but recommended)
Lay pineapple slices in the pan during the last few minutes to caramelize in the glaze.
